BonnyriggMCC 10th March 2008
Meeting opened: 20.25hrs with Colin Shanks in the chair. There were 26 members present. Tyre seal: Colin opened by informing the members of a deal to put tyre sealant in the tyres to prevent punctures. It is thought that this would be beneficial to all members (especially Tam)! and not only those going to Europe. Anyone interested can find all the details on the website. Outings/Trips: Kenny Roger required numbers of members interested in his run to Cullen ASAP. as the rooms were only being held for a short period. Chris Malko; also requires numbers for the booking arrangements for Skye ASAP. It was acknowledged that due to the Europe trip members might feel reluctant to commit to other runs so early in the year, but if accommodation was to be booked by the Committee member, as much notice as possible had to be given. Anyone wanting to attend an outing out with the cut-off period would be responsible for his or her own booking of accommodation for that trip. Jimmy Byrne; reported that his run to Glencoe is up and running with 16 members booked this year. All the details of the Glencoe run are on the website. Blood run: There will be complimentary Tea/Coffee supplied by the Retreat Hotel prior to the blood run. BMCC information boards have been placed in both Saltire Suzuki and Hein Gericke shops to inform other bikers of the blood run. Full blood run details are posted on the website. Donation: someone wishing to remain anonymous has placed a donation of £100 with the club. The club respects this person’s wish and is eternally grateful for this most generous gift. A rapturous round of applause was forthcoming by the members. Clay pigeon shoot: all who were able to attend this outing had a good time. Full details and any pictures that were taken will be posted on the website. Hein Gericke evening: 14 members turned up for this organised open night, which was quite a good turn out by the club. Some discounted purchases were made (even Duncan splashed the cash)!! The club thanks Hein Gericke for their hospitality and the free buffet. Scottish Bike show: the body of the hall thank Gus and Marion for the excellent two for the price of one ticket offer for the Scottish Bike show through Menzies Distribution Ltd. This proved to be a good saving for the members, and Naz! Password: As a result of people other than members (i.e. Naz) benefiting from deals meant for BMCC members a secure password is now required to access the club forum on the website. This password is available from any committee member for those who don’t already know it. Egg Run: An Easter egg run is organised for 23rd March 2008 at 12.30pm. Full details are on the website forum. Cycle Sunday: This event will take place at 10.30hrs. on Sunday 6th April 2008 at the Falkirk Wheel. Again details are on the web. Meeting closed: 20.55 hrs.

The
Gathering - 18th - 20th July Oxfordshire - - - - New Band- - - - Dear Bonnyrigg MCC, Alma Fiera is a four-piece classic rock covers band hailing from central Scotland. We each have over 20 years’ experience, with this band having been together for approaching two years. We’re very interested in playing at any of your forthcoming events or rallies, myself in particular since I’ve been biking now for more than 15 years! We played the Edinburgh MAG rally Friday night last summer with Roadhouse and are keen to join the wider Scottish bike rally circuit in 2008. Playing recently in and around Dunfermline, Edinburgh, Glasgow and West Lothian, we have a couple of live video clips from performances at Whistlebinkies, the MAG rally and a charity gig viewable on YouTube (www.youtube.com/almafiera). If you’d prefer I send a CD, please let me know, though we have some tracks recorded on our MySpace page (www.myspace.com/almafiera) A sample set list is at the foot of this e-mail, though we are constantly updating it with new covers – some new additions are Green Day, U2, Bryan Adams, the Chilis, the Knack and Feeder. I look forward to hearing from you once you’ve had a chance to watch/listen to us. If you need any further information, don’t hesitate to contact me on 07984 006884 or e-mail almafiera@gmail.com. Best wishes and kind regards, Lynda Lynda (bass/lead vocals) ALMA FIERA e-mail from I.O.M. Dear Sirs, I am currently creating a package for car and motorbike clubs to visit the Isle of Man. This is a new product and will include places to visit, maps and a welcome letter. If you want to request a free package which also includes information about the T.T. Racing, please send me your clubs contact address.

The
Biggest Charity
Run
In
Scotland
Dear Sir or Madam, Argyll Motorcycle Training is holding a charity run in Oban Argyll to raise funds for a very small church that is in dire need of repair. We have been asked by the minister if we could help organise this. The way it works is that each biker carries a pillion, who will get sponsorship by the mile. (171mls)March 31st. We can supply the pillion or the riders can bring there own. We have been contacted by a grate deal of bikers from far and wide. and the response have been fantastic. If your club could possibly help us with more bikers we would like to make it the biggest charity run in Scotland. If you are interested please email for an information pack. Happy Biking Yvonne MacMillan Latest e-mails Dear Fellow Motorcyclists Another e-mail

E-Mail from Australia G’Day, A while ago, we sent you an email about patches for our motorcycle themed Diner and mentioned that we would update you when it was ready. It took a bit longer than we anticipated as we put a bit more into it than we originally planned and went on to get a liquor licence. The diner is now full of bike pictures, tin signs, Motorbike and Diner memorabilia and of course, patches from the UK. We have already received a good supply of patches from the UK but would still like to get hold of one of your patches but, fully understand if this is not possible. We hope to have a website for “Saint’s Diner” up and running within a couple months. In the meantime, we have sent details of our motorcycle holiday website for you to have a look at and if possible, we would really appreciate a link on your club website. www.wamotorcycleholidays.com.au Once again, thanks for your support. Stay Upright!
Cheers Another Charity Bike Ride I apologise for contacting you in this way, but I have obtained your details from the internet and thought that you may be able to help with a charity bike ride that we are organising. I am writing on behalf of Lynn's Bowel Cancer Campaign regarding our planned 2008 Big Bike Ride. Lynn Faulds Wood, ex BBC Watchdog presenter, started the charity, and last year we held the inaugural bike ride which was from John O’Groats to Lands End. 19 riders took part raising both awareness and funds for the charity. We are planning a round Britain ride over 4 days from June 26th and are aiming to get 40 riders to take part. We would appreciate it if you would display the attached notice at your club. I have also attached a copy of the route and an entry form. If anyone is interested, or you would like to discuss anything further, please contact me on 01947 604389 or by replying to this mail.
Kind Regards
